Meet Kate
Kate Bruns has been writing her entire life. Most recently, she spent 16 years as a marketing and communications professional at the Iowa State University Alumni Association in Ames, Iowa, before a family job change moved her to beautiful Neenah, Wisconsin in 2020. At Iowa State, some of Kate's biggest accomplishments were managing the successful creative implementation of a branding campaign, crafting award-winning articles for VISIONS magazine, and authoring the poetic children's book Cy's Surprise. She was the primary biography and scriptwriter for more than 60 award ceremonies and attracted freelance clients to provide similar services for awards programs across Central Iowa. A notorious stickler, Kate has also worked as both a full-time and freelance professional proofreader. Today, she is a part-time editor with Insight Publications and part-time freelancer providing services in copywriting, editing, public relations, and marketing to clients across the Midwest.
